Cooking Demo while at Sea - January 23, 2024

Grand World Voyage Day 21 - 3984 Steps

Sunrise on the ship they call the Zuiderdam, we'll be closer the Panama Canal tomorrow morning. (Arlo Guthrie's version is much better.) Non-lyricist Bob.

Rough seas today, though not as bad as predicted.

I spent what seemed like, and probably actually was, hours out on the verandah watching the white caps.

The Rolling Stone Lounge transformed into a set for a cooking show. They should do a mini version of "Chopped" with the most recently hired chef's of the Zuiderdam without any "chopping", but just for fun. Think two chefs at at a time with a simple dish for each. ( Maybe I should apply for a cruise Directors position) Bloated Brain Bob.

Guest Chef Laura Zamora (no I didn't make her name up) and the Sous Chef from the Zuiderdam's Pinnacle Grill (The Eatery aboard). She was so open and personable and if she needed anything he had it in hand.

Deep fried plantain which will be fried again to serve as a cup to hold Costa Rican Ceviche. The cups are called Patacones and are something we will have to try when we are back at our RV lot in Texas since the local HEB always has plantains.

I started videoing right after she gave the answer to most favorite food, French Fries.

Talk about mouth wateringly good!

They stood there for some 20 minutes and answered questions after the demonstration was over.

The sound and sight of the rough seas from inside our cabin.

I've passed by this beautiful arrangement many times on the 2nd deck. For some reason today was the first time I ever thought to take a photo of it. Just think, three weeks at sea and we still have over a hundred days to go. As anyone who has been on a world cruise knows, it is beyond mere words to convey how awesome it is.
