Travel Day 66 - March 9, 2024 - 8,902 Steps

If this looks familiar, it is since I posted it yesterday. In the Captain's talk last night we learned something about it. We thought the sky was grayish because it was foggy.

But id that was true, why was the sky still somewhat opaque even in the afternoon? It turns out it was dust blowing in from the Gobi Desert that creates the hazy appearance to the sky. In the late afternoon the wind changed and the sky cleared up at the time we left Shanghai.

I took a video of all the ships passing by our verandah with the GoPro. It is a 2 hour 30 minute video sped up so it only lasts just under 6 minutes. It really shows why Shanghai is the world's busiest port by far.

Nice weather, nice seas this morning.

Some days the ocean is gentle.

Still, there was some of that yellow dusty Gobi desert haze hanging around.

Trash floating in the water.

A great interview with the ladies who take care of the craft classes. The work it takes to pull all this off is unbelievable.

I usually try to go down to Kim's Coffee interviews to take some video because Linda gets so into the discussions she sometimes forgets to take any video. Besides, I enjoy listening to them also.

Ships, ships, ships as we traveled north.

The more I use chopsticks to eat my lunch the better I get at using them. Today i only used them to eat the entire meal. Practice makes perfect.

Tiny beads can be hard to see.

The ladies are so intent on what they are doing.

Looking good!

All that Gobi Desert dust sure makes for a spectacular sunset.
