Around the World in 128 days - Singapore Day 2 - Chinatown and Tea House

Travel Day 81 - March 24, 2024 - 7,857 Steps

Singapore is the prettiest harbor we have docked at on the voyage.

Closeup of the sign.

The tea house we visited.

Single cup tea pot.

The tea cups. The tall one was designed so you could first smell the aroma of the tea before pouring into the wider cup to drink.

Good teas are meant to be enjoyed, not slack your thirst or give you a caffeine boost.

Lapsang Souchong is one of the teas I enjoy drinking back home due to its extreme smokiness.

One of the things I like about tea ware is how pretty it tends to be. Just anothr way it brings pleasure to drinking tea.

Another Linda bird photo.

And yes, that building in the center has vegetation growing all over it.

Buddhist Temple in Chinatown.

Everything in it is in black and white.

A useful mural?

Very useful.

Very realistic. And a very pretty model.

Of course Linda would pet the chickens.

Singapore shophouses. Our guide grew up in one of them.

One footed, headless parakeet.

Chinese style lunch.

Her words were, "Take my picture", and I did.

A lantern shop.

Inside the temple of 100 Buddhas.

As always in Singapore, the architecture never cease to amaze.
