Around the World in 128 days - Singapore Day 1 - Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck

Travel Day 80 - March 23, 2024 - 9,551 Steps

We're not the only cruise ship in port today.

Quite a view from our verandah as we were docking.

Staff Captain Karl said docking was a controlled collision. Linda was able to video it this morning.

Sunrise over the harbor.

Another interesting dockside greeting.

This has to be a must see. Our time was limited due to the excursion timing, but with all the walking it was just about perfect for Linda.

First stop was the Flower Dome

Stepping back in time, this was the scene as we approached the entrance.

First view inside the dome.

It doesn't do the sight we say any justice.

It is a jaw dropping experience if this type of thing appeals to you. It sure did to us. Those are the oldest and largest olive trees we've ever seen in the background.

Everywhere you look there is something special.

Foretelling tomorrows tea ceremony excursion.

I know what I'd like to write, but I know better. Smart Bob.

And it truly is.

The first thing you come across is this gigantic waterfall.

One of those you have to see it to believe it places.

Reminder of one of our past trips.

Glass, just glass, but oh, so lovely.

Up in the clouds it is a long long way down.

It is a hanging walkway in the clouds.

As close I got to the edge of the walkway.

Like I said, it is a long way down.

Looking up at the walkway in the clouds.

Crested Myna

Up on top is the observation deck.

The two domes of Gardens by the Bay.

Below is a bonus video. A Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome slide show.
