Around the World in 128 Days - Fukuoka

Travel Day 62 - March 5, 2024 - 3,598 Steps

View from the ship. With rain in forecast, and nothing interesting in the way of sightseeing, just more of what we have been seeing and the ship leaving in the afternoon, we decided to stay aboard today.

Ship being loaded with rice.

Close-up of how the grain is loaded into the hold.

I hope it wasn't eyeing me as food.

A quick slideshow of some of the gulls swimming near the ship.

The crew is always going through drills.

It was surprising how busy the harbor was.

Linda's favorite thing. Having the laundry done by the ship's laundry. Talk about money well spent.

The ever present tugs whenever we arrive or depart. As the captain put it, better to have them standing by and not need them, than having to need them and not having them standing by.

I guess we call call it sailing off in the great unknown, for somewhere out there is our next pot of call, Shanghai, China. Tomorrow is a sea day so there may be a post or not as they are not saying when we will be cut off, but if not tomorrow, the following day for sure.
