Around the World in 128 Days - Rough Seas and Much to Do

  Travel Day 44 - February 16, 2024 - 14,138 Steps

Nicer weather today. No rain but that also means no rainbows.

Todays interview guest at Coffee with Kimberly were husband and wife Justin and Lauren. They were originally both photographers onboard a Holland America ship where they first met, became better and better acquainted, eventually married, changed from photography to him being a fantastic Arts and Craft instructor and her a sports director. Lately they have had contracts for the same ship, something that married couples who contract to cruise lines often times do not get to do. I have to say that the different people we have seen in these interviews didn't grow up wanting their life to be the house with the picket fence, etc..

Here they are discussing  how those contracts work for them.

I'm so lucky to have met her those 57 years ago. We never thought about the white picket fence, but Life has still be so good to us.

White caps with some rocking but nothing like the past few days.

Linda likes to get to the World Stage early enough to make sure and get the seat she likes. I think she may have outdone the early arrival thing this norning.

Sharks are not man eaters, they don't even like the taste of human blood. The problem is they have to take that first bite to discover it was a human rather than their preferred aquatic food.

She just has a way about her in her talks that has you listening to her every word.

In the afternoon the wind lessened even more and the ocean became more rolling and less choppy.

Dinner in the Main Dining Room. These were the tiniest deviled eggs I've ever eaten and the best tasting ones outside of how Linda makes them.

Just trying to compensate for that tiny appetizer course. Smart Bob.

Our table overlooked the ship's stern wake.

It was a packed theater for the repeat performance of the Bird Dogs.

What's sad is that they are so great, yet only booked for two performances, while some the real dog acts have more. D.J. Bucc-a-lousy certainly comes to mind. (He was so bad I just can't say bad things in a nice way about him.)

Their final song was a wild, rollicking rendition of  Johnny B. Goode

A hoppin' and a jumpin', a rockin' and a rollin'.
