Around the World in 128 Days - Puerto Vallarta

 Travel Day 28 - January 30, 2024 - 11,717 Steps

To anyone wondering where we were today, this sign we saw on our return bus ride from "out in the middle of nowhere" to quote our guide should provide guidance as to where we were today.

The view from the stern of our ship, Walmart and Sam's Club.

It is hard to photograph Frigate Birds in flight.

Getting better, but still not what I wanted.

As good as it gets with the camera I use. Of course I could spend $15, 000 more than the $500 my camera cost and get great photos, but why, it's only a bird after all.

Our guide said this was one of the three famous photo stops in town, so like everyone else we took a photo of it. I thought is was very clever of the town to use the red tape to provide a colorful accent to the drab green of the sculpture.

Some things never change. Kids will be kids where ever and whom ever they are.

Interior photo at the required ABC stop on the tour. For any new readers to my scribblings, ABC is shorthand for Another Blasted Church according to a Scottish guide we had many, many years ago. She would take us to the church in town if the tour company she worked for required it, otherwise anyone who wanted to see an ABC was on their own to find it. Needless to say, she was one of the very best guides we have ever had.

Two buildings a block apart. This one looks like it has several "homes"

This one looks like where someone lives, but it isn't a home.

There are swinging bridges and then there are swinging bridges.

Banyan tree. And no this isn't one of those 'butt shots" Linda has banned me from taking.

THIS is a butt shot. Bad Bob.

Cooking class. Can you guess what type of cuisine we are going to be preparing?

Grilled tomato, onion an tomatillo are some of the ingredients.

Linda demonstrating her technique.

Not shown was the garlic, salt granules, peppercorns and a small amount of roasted pepper with a choice of spiciness according to the cooks desire. I went for very spicy, Linda went for mild. Mine was great, hers was spicier than she likes. I operate on the a little spice makes life better, a lot more spice makes Life much better.

And a little too much heat makes you hiccup.

I didn't even get to ask the question and you've already guessed guacamole.

Why at least one of our meals is Mexican everyday when back home. It not only tastes great, it's also colorful.

Time to enjoy the tastes and flavors of our cooking endeavors.

Not quite done. Wonder what this could be.

A tostada topped with guacamole. Easy to make and oh, so good!

No dessert, but depending on your personal preference, in our case something just as good if not better. A tequila tasting.

We tasted four different tequilas. All very drinkable without adding all that margarita stuff to then. And yes, we had a margarita with the foods we had prepared earlier. We are in Mexico after all and the state of Jalisco is the home of tequila.

Street scenes during our return bus ride back to the ship.

It was might windy once we got back to the ship. The video below shows Linda's hair in action.
