Around the World in 128 Days - A Day at Sea and Computer Problems

Travel Day 48 - February 20, 2024 - 19,312 Steps

I've been searching for a decent tea to drink in the morning since we departed Fort Lauderdale almost 7 weeks ago. For the past few days I've been trying PG Tips and I've finally got something decent to drink in the way of tea. Notice I said decent and that's what it is just decent, but it's still better than what I had been drinking.

a breakfast that tastes as good as it looks. Joy of joys, they now have siracha sauce to liven things up.

Kimberly interviewed the new entertainment director this morning. He is a mid cruise replacement as the prior person had a personal crisis to attended to had to leave the cruise.

Sometimes words come out wrong!

One of the things we appreciate about Holland America is the opportunity they give us to learn from guest speakers, in this case a young student who is aboard to help people learn some basic Japanese words and phrases.

Linda had no problem repeating the words in Japanese, but afterwards she she she would use the the different motions and shapes of the hands we have used around the world to communicate with people in the small villages we like to visit who speak no English, yet the motions etc. are a universal language. I did pretty well in the marriage department if I do say so. Lucky Bob.

Another day of rough seas, but not so rough that it prevented us from seeing some flying fish while eating breakfast. Sorry, they were so quick I didn't get any photos, but they really do leap from a wave and glide for some distance.

Morning seas.

Our next port of call in several days.

And another excellent speaker. Who I didn't see thanks to having problems with my computer to the point it took almost all day to write yesterdays blog post. To put it bluntly, it didn't run, it didn't jog, it didn't walk, it just barely crawled. Turned out the C drive was full. Deleted a few things to get up to a walk and have far more to delete once this post is written.

Creative writing class. Will miss it when it ends in a few days.

Sometimes it is okay to just stand out on the verandah and watch the wind blow water off the tops of the waves. It's so easy to get caught up in all the onboard activities, blogging and reading that we skip taking some time out to just watch the world go by.

A sudden rain squall.

No the spectacular sunset we so often see, but a nice time to stop and reflect on the day. Obviously I was trying to dump all the tension and frustration created by my wayward computer.

Something different in the way of entertainment tonight.

Not being familiar with the music she was playing, it was still quite entertaining.

A snippet of her playing.

A change of costume and a change in the type of music.
