Around the World in 128 Days - An Awesome Brunch and Ever Rougher Seas

  Travel Day 33 - February 4, 2024 - 25,027 Steps

During my 5 AM laps this morning I ran into  bit of a problem on deck 6. That door hasn't been there before!

As I learned later in the day, the wall catch holding the door open, recessed into the wall, had malfunctioned and was allowing the door to swing open. The ever increasing side to side rocking motion of the ship had caused the door slam shut. The opening to the right was the way around the unexpected obstacle.

Now I know what at least one of these rooms we see the service personnel disappearing into looks like.

The rough seas don't look so rough in this photo, but Ill post a few videos to better show what it really looked like. And it got worse and worse as the day progressed, completely ignoring the weather forecast which said the winds would be dying down around 5 PM. They didn't, they actually increased.

Definitely not very smooth.

World Stage Hawaii presentation Linda attended.

Brief dancing clip.

More music and dancing.

A nice slow dance.

Note the over 24 mph winds at 11 AM. In the evening they were 32 mph winds and it was definitely rocking and rolling onboard.

Salt crystals on the verandah railing. Interesting how high up the winds came blow the water.

There was what was termed a Sampler Brunch today, which the four of us attended. A nice selection on the appetizer plate.

Had to chuckle at the mini pancakes and reduced size Beef Wellington

Dessert great and even with the small portions of each item we all left the table quite satisfied. No photo, but the mimosas  we consumed were the perfect liquid accompaniment. Life is good.

Meanwhile up on the aft outside deck.

Remember comment yesterday about Linda in terms of Desiree, the media manager having to catch any errors in the media that other people overlooked. Well. Linda caught one today that was overlooked by all the staff. Linda's been down to Guest Services a number of times, however not on deck, but on deck 1. She to go down again today and informed them of the error. Smart Sharp-eyed Linda.

The ship was rocking during Happy Hour.

As part on my non weigh adding regime, desserts had been verboten the prior two days. Grace made sure I had a healthy dessert tonight and it was the course of the meal. Happy Bob. Happy Grace.

Sad to report we only have three nights to listen to Nick play the piano and sing as he will be getting off in Honolulu and returning home to New York City. We just hope the piano duo will be musicians like him and not like the other current piano player singer.
