Back to Botswana and Wildlife Galore - 25 Nov. 2018
Those termites I mentioned last night? What we found in the shower this morning. The wings are only to get them to where they are going, then the fall off and the termite can burrow into the soft ground. These termites seem to have flow left when the should have flown right.
Termite parts.
Linda screeched when she discovered we had our own bug catcher in our room.
Such a gentle sole it was. Softly wrapped in a towel, it was turned loose on the porch to live another day. Personally, I think it was so full of termite that it could barely move which was why it was easy to catch.
Luggage boat.
Heron tree?
Nice photo, if I do say so. And even taken from a speeding boat.
Walking to the Namibian immigration office.
Warthog roadblock. Ugly and cute at the same time. Only its mother would call it beautiful.
It is a third world country.
Back in Botswana.
Unofficial greeter at Elephant Valley Camp where we will be staying.
View from the lounge area. Arty HDR photo by Linda. She likes these kind of photos and if she takes them, I will post a few of them. Smart Bob.
Our guide “Sox”. There are ten of us on the tour. Usually Norma, Irina and Linda and I were in the same vehicle.
It can be hard to spot the animals in the bush.
That’s better.
There is beauty everywhere you look, even in a tree butchered by powerline tree trimming.
Where we will be going on our daily drives while here. There is no hunting anywhere in Botswana. The military patrols the parks for poachers and they are shot on sight.
Irina reviewing her photos.
After the lion got up, he walked over to this bush and sprayed for some time to mark his territory. It had been raining all this time, but it doesn’t bother the King of the Bush.
Just to show that not all our bird photos are all that great.
On the other hand.
And so ends another great day in Botswana.
