Jose was working at his new room service position early this morning.
They have this information sign at the breakfast bar the muesli is at which touts the wonders of chia pudding. Tried a spoonful on my bowl of muesli this morning. I'll be adding it to my bowl from now on.
At breakfast Linda comment the sea is sparkling like it is covered with diamonds. Back at the room and out on the verandah I attempted to capture that look, rather poorly though.
These Booby's were flying around the ship this morning. It made me remember just how hard it is to take a photo of a bird in flight.
Linda was doing her usual 9:00 think on sea days, watching another of Kim's interesting interviews.
Today it was about excursions. As the saying goes, the fellow on the right is all hat, the fellow on the left is all cowboy.
It was captain Frisco's first time since he came aboard in Singapore. From a troubled youth to a Captain at age 40, he's a great example that once you discover what you love doing there's nothing you can't do. Below at two excepts from the question and answer session.
The job of being Captain.
Difficult ports.
It's Lauren's last day, but she's going with a bang, doing two presentations.
It's a very, very good questions
One of the things she talked about was the Red Queen effect. Either evolve, change, adapt or die out. The thing I really like about her presentations is she is always challenging you to THINK instead of just accepting what you hear, see or believe.
Her second talk was, as she put it, her last and would be in a more light hearted vein. She began by saying there are more insects on earth than there are grains of sand, quintillions of them.

Some species have evolved correctly.
A recently discovered horsefly species that was really named for Beyonce. Who says entomologists don't have a sense of humor.
There is such a difference in temperature and humidity between our room and outdoors that I have to leave my Nikon outside or it fogs up the instant I take it outside . I keep my Sony in my pants pocket so it has no problem due to my body heat. Is that an adaptation to the environment based on animal intelligence like what Lauren was talking about?
One of the better ones. Interestingly they have tended to be from the UK.
