Something Old: Something New - January 1, 2024
We'll start posting here once again with something old, actually it is far older than we ever imagined since in a few days it will be entering its 18 year. It was during the first week of January 2006 that we left our home behind and began living and traveling fulltime in an RV. So many miles, so many places, so many wonderful experiences since then. But we do have one regret. As we grow ever so older we look back and wish we had started at least 5 years earlier.
When you live in an RV there are some things to be done that you don't have to do when you live in a house. Disconnecting the water and sewer is one of those things.
And now for the new.
In two more days we will be boarding the Holland America Line cruise ship Zuiderdam in Fort Lauderdale. For the next 128 days it will be our home as travel around the world. Our bags are not only packed, they are safely stored in a warehouse near the cruise terminal thanks to a service called Luggage Forward, which was a perk for booking early for the cruise. Which, by the way, is called a Grand World Voyage.
There are many things we do every time we leave on one of our extended RV trips and it is exact same thing when leaving on this cruise. One thing I always do is disconnect the battery in our Jeep Cherokee. This time when Linda asks me if I did it, I'll just tell her to look at the photo in the blog. Smart Bob.

Let's just say that the female half of the family has multiple checklists of things to be done whenever we leave on our travels and woe be unto the male half of the family if he doesn't complete and checkoff in red that each and every one has been done. I wonder what would happen if I didn't checkoff the water and sewer in the 5th wheel section and just let these photos suffice? All things considered, it is in my best interest to forget that line of reasoning and just do as she says. Obedient Bob.
