At Sea Heading to Grenada - January 19, 2024 - World Voyage Day 17 - 10929 Steps

Instead of showing the food I take for breakfast I thought this morning I would show the food I didn't take.

I'm not sure where they come from, but here we are out on the ocean and there are still bugs.

I could spend hours staring at the water. Here I find the contrast between the bright orange of the lifeboats and the water almost mesmerizing.

Another view from a different angle. This section of the ship was in shade and the color of the water is entirely different losing its bright blue look.

Looking straight down at the water it has an ever-changing beauty.

This short video provides a brief look at that beauty.

Two days without dessert ended at the noon meal today. Note how I arranged the cookies on the plate by taking a bite out of each so they fit perfectly up to the double chocolate tart. Artful Bob.

Puffy the penguin hopped over to the couch sometime this morning. He looks much better there, doesn't he?

The crossing the equator ceremony for the pollywog's among the crew took place today even though we crossed the equator several days ago. The crossing took place while we were on the Amazon and the captain said that do to the difficulties in navigation the ceremony would be postponed for several days until we were out on the ocean. Here is King Neptune and his consort Amphitrite entering for the ceremony.

They retracted the movable roof of the pool providing a balcony experience for some of the spectators.

The judges, who were the senior officers of the ship, entering to assume their duties in judging the pollywog's.

The judges take their duty very seriously. That is the ship's Captain with his back to the camera.

A group of pollywog's as there early rendered by the judges.

With the thumbs down verdict the punishment begins.

We never did figure out exactly what it was that was slathered all over the pollywog's.

Whatever it was, it washed off in the pool. Cleaning up the pool took the rest of the day as it was roped off so no one could go swimming.

When the light is right the view could be unreal.

It comes alive in this video.

Some people take their 15 free drinks a day quite seriously.

On the other hand there are those that take their desserts very seriously (besides me) as this lady demonstrates

Shari reliving her youth???

Another night of so-so entertainment on the world stage. It was the ship's band, singers and dancers turn tonight. They were good and tried hard, but it is almost unfair to compare them to the professionalism and talent The Flyrights displayed last night.
